I am a writer and author with a deep passion for bringing my stories and characters to life. In the last few years I have published five short stories featuring Mr. Nibs. Nibs is a claurichaun, a magical creature of the fairy world related to the leprechaun, only there is no pot of gold. Nibs will keep your wine from corking as long as you share. He is also a wonderful time travel companion

"Two Blind Men And A Fool", a complete historical fiction novel was recently published as a serial on www.bewilderingstories.com. If you go to the site you can find some of the Mr. Nibs stories. Go to the author index and find "Smith/Sherman." Enjoy. My newest novel "Poets Can't Sing" was published in November, 2014 by Elementa' in both regular print and ePublishing. "Honeysuckle Rose Hotel", its sequel was published in June, 2015 ."The Changing Wind" the third and final sequel to the "Poets . . ." series is being written.

Think of your mind as a field, your thoughts are seeds to be planted. Now, would you rather grow flowers or weeds.

I lived in San Francisco the decade of the seventies, after that Eugene, Oregon until 2011, then Portland, Oregon. As I write this I am fulfilling a long time dream and living on the Oregon coast.

I have a wonderful daughter and son-in-law and two grand daughters in Eugene and a son in Portland.

Life has been an education and I continue to learn each and every day. At one time or another i have owned a children's bookstore, a deli, been an insurance agent, stock broker, internet marketing director, headhunter, and wine steward. The best so far is being a writer and improving my craft.

What next? Who knows . . . What do you think Nibs?.
