SHER MUHAMMAD SHAKIR

My name is Sher Muhammad Shakir. I was raised amongst a very modest family in a small city Skardu in the extreme north of Pakistan.

I got 932 out of 1100 marks in Higher Secondary School exams securing A+ grade & 3rd position. My extraordinary performance in my high school made me competent to excel in the entrance test for Engineering Universities, bestowing the 2nd Position in Gilgit Baltistan and help me through my nomination in Mechanical Engineering Department of the highly reputed prestigious University of Pakistan, University of Engineering and Technology ( UET ) Lahore, renowned for its exceptional quality education according to the contemporary needs, as Gilgit Baltistan has been allocated only six (6) seat here, one each in different Departments and also able to get partial scholarship here. This university has broadened my outlook and now I am able to look at things with a broader mind and a creative approach.

So, I love meeting new people from different backgrounds and learning about them. Being an Engineering student, my primary focus is Science and from the beginning of my course I have been actively involved in projects related to my studies.Identified & forward detail to CM Skardu places of Skardu where franscis & kaplan turbine with 2 to 3 Megawatt each electricity would be planted if government allot a budget, killing loud-shedding in the area also exportable to different other areas of Pakistan. So far I have worked on wind turbine & fuel efficiency

In addition to my studies, I have been very keenly interested in humanitarian work, since I was very young and that is something that I am very, very passionate about. Very recently I have introduced a forum “Yoof English Speaker” purposed to master in English speaking, killing hesitation, increasing fluency and vocabulary. Every Friday from 8 to 12 session is held. I am also a part of a student group named “All Baltistan Movement” that is working to promote educational awareness in far-flung areas of Gilgit-Baltistan. “Kowardu Development Program” working to life education in Kowardu.
