Sheryl Blasnik

From backstage down the runway to the Garment District, Sheryl Blasnik has been there on the pulse of the always evolving fashion industry. She draws her vivacious energy and creative inspiration from pop culture, street fairs, museum exhibits and vintage fashion books. Her passions for music, dance, literature and film act as a catalyst for evocative and innovative ideas resulting in cutting edge presentations.

With a degree from the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in "Event Planning & PR", she has transitioned her studies from the classroom to the industry.

Having interned at a Soho boutique PR firm during her schooling, Sheryl went on to plan and produce fashion events for emerging to established fashion houses during NY Fashion Week.

In 2010 Sheryl launched her own fashion blog. Fashion Development Group (http://fashiondevelopmentgroup.com) serves as a forum to introduce young emerging fashion and accessory designers located in the NY metro area. FDG also features breaking industry news, runway reviews, backstage photos, designer collaborations, explores trends and brings invite-only high profile fashion events right to your inbox by subscribing.

In January of 2008, Sheryl was recruited by the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising (LIM), the College for the Business of Fashion, to join their adjunct faculty teaching classes in Fashion Styling and Event Planning. She has reached out and invited top celebrity stylists and event planners in NYC to speak with the student body and better prepare them for a rewarding career in the fashion industry. In addition, she continues to guest lecture in the Fashion Styling program at FIT, LIM and Montclair State University.

For the last 6 years, she has worked as a VIP/Guest Supervisor at numerous Genart fashion events, an organization that showcases the works of emerging designers, and was on-site to organize the Project Runway auditions held in New York City. In addition, she was the Volunteer Coordinator supervising 50+ volunteers at the Lucky Magazine Shops annual event at Gotham Hall.

As a wildly sophisticated, creative and ambitious professional she has cultivated and maintains relationships with some of the largest NYC public relations firms specializing in fashion.
