shey kahni

Shey kahni, singer/ song writer/pianist/percussionist/drummer/ and guitarist/ was born in Angola Luanda from the congolese parents in 1975, at the tender age of a child of musical parents, he became interested in music, as any enlightened kid he got bored with the traditional music of his country and started imitating his idols (al jarreau, george benson. Michael Franks, Sting, Pat Metheny, Jipsy king, bob marley, herby hancock, stevie wonder, right down to the voice.

at the age of 11, Shey left Angola for whindhok Namibia to seek fame and fortune after a few years of struggling, a friend suggested he should study music in Namibia, as this was for free, with alot more music knowledge he left Namibia for South Africa and started his band, Shey kahni band. they performed in clubs and bars in and around South Africa.

by now Shey had developed a unique style and voice that"s truly international. on his travels he heard about a place in cape town that was looking for a vibe Afro Latin Band and he decided to investigate the possibilities.

Shey has been living and performing in cape town ever since and never looked back. in september 2008,he decided that it was high time to record his own compositions, the CD was recorded and mixed. at Mega mix studio in cape town with the help from a few musicians and backing vocalists. with the CD innocence of life he hoped to attract the attention of the radio stations and record companies to secure his future in the music industry

the CD earned him an interview on Africa magic (dstv program) and it got play listed on various radio stations, as well as the DVD being played on SABC1
