My passion as a wealth manager is contagious, but more than anything, I'm a wealth manager who is analytic but largely use my instincts. I always say “nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care.”

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant at the age of 22, I have spent my whole career building my independent wealth management practice. Unlike many in my peer group, I have never worked for a big bank or brokerage firm. Today I lead a 52-member team with over Rs. 5 billion in assets under advice.

Coming from a very humble background I believe that “no matter where you were born or what your financial position in life, the power to design your future is in your hands and your present position does not determine where you can go; but it is merely a starting point.”

After graduating in Chemistry I soon realized that I had a passion for finance and chose to pursue Chartered Accountancy.

Those who have the wealth and need financial advice are anyway hounded on a daily basis by the banks and large brokerage houses. To really add value, we have to be different, offer bespoke ideas and deliver personalized round-the-clock services. That’s what differentiates my company, Fine Advice from competitors. At 46, still works long hours to make enough to fund my basic needs and also engage in charitable work through ‘Fine Advice Foundation’ which I co-founded with my wife, Anindita.

When I'm not engaged with clients or doing philanthropic work, I keep myself busy with my wife, a nine year old son and some close friends.
