Shifa Malik

Hi, I’m Shifa. I’m a student living in Troy, MI and some of my hobbies include taking pictures, doing huge puzzles, and playing tennis.

I already know what I want to do with my life (shocking, I know), but at the same time I'm still figuring out who I am. I love the world of neuroscience and molecular biology, but I also love learning about ethical behavior in medicine, mental health, and childhood development! (That last part sounds off, but they're so cute and the reason why I want to be a pediatrician someday).

My interests have always stayed the same. The About me page forced me to choose 3 interests I have and I picked reading, DIY, and volunteering, which are all things I genuinely enjoy. Why? I love making things from my own hands (even though nothing turns up the way I plan). I also love helping others in any small or big way that I can. it's the best feeling knowing that you made someone's life easier just by handing them some water or organizing a fundraiser that impacts 100 people. I've volunteered for over 300 hours and I have no plans to slow down. Lastly, the reason I love reading is not just because they were the reason I've ended up wearing glasses for 11 years, but because they immerse me into a mystifying and magnificent world I may have never known about had I chosen not to read about it.

These interests inspire me to seek out-of-the-box experiences and help me deal with failure in a healthier way than I have before. I hope that through this endless rant you get to know me better!
