Independent scholar interested in Japanese material culture during the Meiji Period (1868-1912), specifically in regards to the conversations seen between museum and religious spaces. Additional interest is the changes seen over the 20th century in regards to tea culture and antiquities.

Other than being a scholar Ryosuke works as a consultant in Chinese and Japanese works of art, finding objects and selecting for collections in the United States and in the United Kingdom.
