Shiresh’s fascination with the camera lens goes back to his childhood and following his training at Sir J.J. School of Arts, Mumbai.
He took up challenging assignments with Special Audience Publications, where he rose to become an Art Director for magazines dealing in varied topics like Asian photography, travel, jewelry, food & liquor.
Shiresh has also had the fortune to assist and be trained under the able guidance
of late legendary Mr Wilas Bhende and Gautam Rajadhyaksha, the renowned and highly respected photographers in the photography and Advertising Industry.
This had a huge impact on his professional career as he specialized in shooting Tabletops, Portraits, Personalities, Cars & Tourism for work related to Advertising.
Shiresh has handled the layout and design of a Kolhapur-based film newspaper supplement — ‘Pudhari’. Shiresh was also responsible for setting-up India’s first photography magazine ‘Asian Photography (1985)’ followed by Better Photography (1997).
In his 27 years old career in the photography industry, he has been an instrumental part of the commercial photography fraternity.
Shiresh was a key person in launching India’s first Photography magazine ‘Asian Photography’ in 1985.
He also launched the second magazine of India ‘Better Photography’ with TATA group in 1997.
His contribution to these magazines made ‘Better Photography’ the most popular magazine in Photographer’s world.
Shiresh was a Creative Head and a Group Photo Editor for 23 Special Interest Magazine (B2 to B2 and B2c ) of Tata Press (1996 – 2011).
