My name is Shivan Bhavnani.
I am a first-generation South Asian American journalist, third-generation entrepreneur, and healthcare investor.
Over the last five years, I have authored 1500+ articles and research reports. I am obsessed with the medical/healthcare innovation with a particular focus in the following areas: digital therapeutics, mental health technology, neurotechnology, & psychedelics.
In 2019, I founded GIMBHI (www.gimbhi.com) to track and analyze the mental, behavioral, & brain health startup ecosystem.
Beyond healthcare, I have over six years of experience in leveraged & structured finance and venture capital from my time at Morgan Stanley, Moody’s, Willis Towers Watson, Vynn Capital, and most recently, S&P, where I led private credit research and analysis efforts. I’ve been an invited speaker at global investment conferences in Amsterdam, New York, Chicago, and California.
In addition to being a CAIA charterholder, I received a B.A. in Economics and B.A. in English from Wesleyan University. I’m currently an M.B.A. candidate at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, pursuing concentrations in healthcare and finance.
