SHIVANGI SINGH
Social Entrepreneur and Writer in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India
Having worked with 20 organizations (including ‘Teach For India’, ‘Youth Ki Awaaz’, ‘Make A Difference’, ‘Janaagraha - Centre for Citizenship and Democracy’, ‘Kat-Katha’ and ‘Project KHEL’) in different leadership capacities, Shivangi juggles many hats. Being a prodigy who started writing at the age of six, Shivangi brings in more than a decade of vibrant writing experience. Hailing from Army background, Shivangi has lived in different parts of the country gaining a vivacious cultural exposure in the process.
Service to the underprivileged is close to Shivangi’s heart and she has worked with six NGOs before starting her own. Through her writing, Shivangi has illuminated social issues plaguing the world and has to her credit over 100 published articles. Shivangi is a Research Enthusiast and has written two academic research papers, published in International Journals, and four research articles for IIM, Shillong’s reputed magazines “Markathon” and “ConQuest”, three of which won the ‘Best Article’ awards. Being a staunch social activist, Shivangi was selected for the Times of India’s “I Lead India” movement in 2013.
Being an avid debater and public speaker, Shivangi has won the best speaker prize in Debating and Extempore competitions numerous times throughout school and college besides anchoring and organizing every major event in her college life. She held Prefect and Class Representative positions throughout her academic life.
Shivangi was the University Topper in Psychology and received the 'Academic Excellence Award' for standing first in her institute, out of all students of all batches and courses, in Post Graduation. For her outstanding achievements, Shivangi has been immortalized in her academic institution's 'Wall Of Fame'.
Shivangi was awarded the prestigious 'Young India Fellowship' as a Samir Mehta Scholar by Ashoka University. She has represented India as a Delegate at various prestigious international conferences and symposiums.
Shivangi is currently working full time on her social initiative ‘Drishtikona – Changing Perspectives’ which is focused on providing gender sensitivity and education to academic institutes and organizations in order to create an inclusive society and shape individuals to become better citizens of the future.
