Born and brought up as a Military Brat, for Shobhit, “Diversity” almost comes as a second nature.

From being a former Metal Vocalist, Photographer and Reiki Master Teacher to being an Intellectual Property and Technology Lawyer, Shobhit's inner quest to find balance and harmony, while striving towards a more holistic and complete life, has led him through diverse experiences, people and places, across India.

He is one of the Founding Partners at Ekagya - Attorneys at Law, an Indian boutique law firm based out of Vadodara, Gujarat. At Ekagya, he heads the firm's Intellectual Property, Technology, and Dispute Resolution practice, spread across India.

He has the representative experience of working with Multinational Telecommunications Companies, Pharmaceuticals, Social Media Platforms, Intermediaries, Startups, Non-Profit Organisations, Artists and Individuals.

Shobhit is enrolled as an Advocate with Bar Council of Delhi and is empanelled as an Intellectual Property Facilitator under the government's StartUps Intellectual Property Protection (SIPP) scheme. He is also the President of Indian Lawyers Association, Vadodara Chapter and a member of International Intellectual Property Law Association, Inc.

Before founding Ekagya, he was based in Delhi and was working as a Counsel with Software Freedom Law Centre, India (, wherein his work revolved around Litigation, Legal Research, Policy, Advisory and Advocacy in areas of Technology and Intellectual Property Laws with major focus on issues such as Intermediary Liability, Encryption, Privacy, Internet Shutdowns, Net Neutrality, Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) and Internet Governance.

Prior to that he has worked with the erstwhile Singh & Singh Lall & Sethi, wherein he was involved with different facets of Intellectual Property Prosecution, Litigation and Enforcement with major focus on issues revolving around Standard Essential Patent (SEP) Litigation, SEPs conflict with Competition Law, Biosimilars and its Regulatory Mechanism in India, Enabling Disclosure and the Issue of Broad Claiming.
