In 2015 Christina noticed that over the 10+ years of her experience in the service industry, restaurant owners were always complaining about one thing: being short-staffed, especially during the off-seasons but also during the height of season when employees would inevitably call off.

Out of curiosity, she started talking to restaurant owners, figuring out their repetitive key issues with staffing. This matter was not only subject to restaurants, because all event-based businesses suffer when short-staffed.

The focus then turned towards building the framework for the connection of any party or event host to the staff that are already willing, able and even excited to work.

By matching the needs of the industry to the needs and wants of the staff, Christina was able to build the Uber for events! Her dreams of traveling the world, chasing once in a lifetime experiences while picking up shifts along the way, are finally closer to reality. When chasing those dreams before, across 15 countries in 3 months, she realized that there was no platform to connect traveling workers to local jobs, as an instant, short term opportunity limiting the opportunity for the travel. When returning home from a long travel in 2016, Christina connected with the HuB Sarasota and Bold CoWork to combine experiential knowledge with awesome minds. The ShortStaf App was created to provide a marketplace and matchmaker for staff, hosts, vendors, and any service needed for any event!

While we are building our team of service staff, with the main positions Server, Bartender, Private Chef, Event/Waitstaff, Set up/Clean Up Crew, and Event Hand (That person that can run around and do all the things you forgot ). We are also constructing a database of awesome local vendors, who can provide all the services needed for any event, connected to you by the touch of a button.

Our next objective is to offer more services and staff for events, like MCs, DJs, Musicians/Bands, Photographers, Videographers, Hair Stylists, Barbers, Make-up Artists, Security, Wedding Officiants, and Entertainment Talent.
