Imagination is a powerful force. It creates stories within you, unseen by the world yet alive enough to shape everything you become.
I remember looking out of windows, holding thoughts that felt eternal. Back when I was just another child, wondering why the moon followed me wherever I went.
A silent soul. Choosing books over tiffin, solitude over games, and sketches on my palm over shared crayons.
The difference was always perspective.
Self-communication, after all, is still communication. History holds this truth, etched across stones that have outlived centuries.
Every idea begins with imagination. What follows is what sustains it. Humility, balance, and a certain stillness of thought. Even today, somewhere between structure and spontaneity, lives the curiosity of a three-year-old in a thirty-something mind.
Who am I to influence another being into making decisions just by reading between the lines I have written? Who am I, if not a mind that decodes another, and yet continually transforms itself in the hope of decoding the next one better? Who am I in this unpredictable rat race leading to infinite human greed? Who am I among those playing the same roles at every stage of life?
Perhaps I exist in fragments.
In a half-torn poster on a fading wall in your gully.
In the magazine column you skip over morning tea.
In a jingle waiting to be heard on a long drive.
In visuals and voice-overs uploaded as “final” on unfamiliar screens.
Every morning, a crow peers in and calls out the same way.
He looks at me with hopeful eyes. I see myself merely as an echo of what resides in his pebble-sized yet powerful mind.
A communication for that one bite of a cookie.
And somewhere in that moment, we share stories as atoms of our lives.
