I am a Retail Professional turned Entrepreneur with over 19 years of experience. Have worked across large Retail companies in India in mangerial roles in the early part of my career and in Leadership roles in recent years. I am an avid learner of Retailing as a subject, a visiting faculty at prestigious B-Schools and write for The Economic Times and many other publications and magazines.

I started scooping Ice-Cream at age 17 at a Baskin Robbins outlet near my home. Later pursued my Bachelors in Commerce, MBA in Marketing and PG Diploma in International Business. My first job was to manage an 8,000 sft Musicworld Store at Kolkata (capital of West Bengal, India). I then moved to manage operations at Foodworld Supermarkets in Chennai (Capital of Tamil Nadu, India). In 2004, I moved to Bangalore ,the silicon valley of India and the capital city of Karnataka where I joined the world renowned Future Group and was part of setting up Central Malls at Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune. From there I moved to United Colors of Benetton as Area Manager - South India. in 2006, I joined Bangalore International Airport Ltd., a private public partnership project which was led by Zurich Airport, Siemens AG and the Aviation Authority of India. I was here, responsible for setting up, leasing, marketing and managing the retail spaces which included Domestic Retail, Duty Free, Food & Beverages, Foreign Exchange services, among others.

Next, I moved to Cafe Coffee Day, India's largest cafe chain where I was responsible for setting 140 cafes across the country. (As on Dec. 2015, the company had 1,400 cafes). I then moved to E-Commerce and joined Indiaplaza.com where I set-up the Lifestyle vertical for the company.

In 2012, I moved back to my hometown, Chennai and joined Royal Enfield, the oldest motorcycle brand in the world with a 115 year legacy. I was responsible for setting over 160 dealerships for the company across the world.

Since Aug. 2014, I am running two Start-ups; Smiling Baby is a retail store which caters to the needs of young parents and their little ones. OyeThere.com is a hyperlocal ecommerce marketplace that connects offline retailers with online consumers.

I teach Retail Marketing at prominent B-Schools in Chennai including IIT Madras, Chennai Business School, to name a few.

I mentor entrepreneurs and startups and also provide Management consulting.
