Shwen brings over a decade of experience in digital strategy, social media and pharmaceutical marketing/communications, both on the client-side and at leading agencies, and across consumer and professional verticals.
Shwen's experience was forged on the "client-side" of pharma marketing, where he most recently led Digital Strategy and Social Media for Vertex Pharmaceuticals and launched an award winning website. During his pharma tenure, he contributed to the launch of over 3 Rx brands.
Shwen is also passionate about healthcare and social media. He founded the Social Health Summit (SXSH), which led to the adoption of a health track at South by Southwest (SXSW) and has run the Social Health Startup Bootcamp since 2012. He also founded PharmaFresh.TV, Social Pharmer, and the Med 2.0 Blog.
As a well regarded thought leader and a recently (2015) recognized "Top 40 Healthcare Transformer," Shwen speaks regularly at industry events and has co/chaired Digital Pharma East since 2009. He sits on advisory boards for: Google, SXSW Health Track, Smart Patients, Digital Health Coalition, and more.
