Sia Stewart (born January 4, 1979), professionally known as Sia Savvy, is an American television producer, director, and showrunner. She is the founder of Savvy Media Group, a production company focused on inclusive, diverse storytelling. Stewart has held multiple roles in the industry including Showrunner, Director, Co-Executive Producer, Field Producer, and Supervising Producer. She is recognized for her contributions to major networks such as ESPN, Hulu, BET, VH1, Oxygen, TV One, and Animal Planet.
Early Life and Education
Stewart was born in Oakland, California. Her given name is Afrikahna Mutsia Stewart, with "Sia" derived from her middle name and “Afri” being a familial nickname. She earned a bachelor's degree in Media Management from Columbia College Chicago and later obtained an MBA in Finance from Morehead State University. Prior to her career in media, Stewart worked in the corporate sector as a senior project manager and corporate accountant across several Fortune 500 companies.

Early Career in True-Crime Television
Sia Stewart made her mark in the television industry through her work in the true-crime genre, contributing to numerous hit shows. These included Investigation Discovery Channel’s Calls From The Inside, TV One’s For My Man, Fatal Attraction, Payback, and Sins of the City, as well as Oxygen’s Snapped Behind Bars and Floribama Murders. These productions allowed Stewart to develop her craft as a producer, field producer, and segment producer.
Transition to Reality and Docuseries Production
She expanded her genre expertise with projects like VH1’s Black Ink Crew and served as Showrunner and Director for ESPN’s docuseries Why Not Us: Southern Dance and Why Not Us: Grambling Dance. She also directed Tubi Originals including Sneaker Hustle, Presumed Dead, and Gone Before His Time: The Kobe Bryant Story.
