Hey there! My name is Sarah and I’m a 3 year student at Ryerson University. The music industry has always called out to me from a young age, and I’ve never been able to see myself working anywhere else. Growing up, I had the opportunity of attending many concerts and music events that significantly influenced my career goals. I myself have never been good at creating music to be a professional musician, but I know I possess the skills needed to bring shows to audiences.

Through Ryerson University’s Creative Industries program, I have been able to study the music industry to learn the process behind artists and festival management, as well as gain a deeper understanding of show production. So far, I have been able to apply this knowledge to successfully stage manage several shows during Canadian Music Week in 2018.

Live music has the ability to bring thousands of strangers together, and it is truly magical. The raw catharsis of attending a live concert remains unmatched in comparison with all other live experiences I’ve been to. When a show is just that good, you forget about who you are and where you come from. All that matters is you and the people on stage in front of you. I’ve spent months in anticipation for shows only to have them go by in what feels like seconds. I’ve seen so many shows from the front of stage and in this lifetime I hope to experience the other side, to help more people attend these events and change more lives.
