Who are SICHREM?

SICHREM is the acronym for South India Cell for Human Rights Education and Monitoring. We are a human rights charity based in Bangalore, India, and have been fighting to protect human rights since 1995.

SICHREM itself is the programme unit of our umbrella body MANASA Centre for Development and Social Action, which was founded with the aim of working towards a ‘just and human society’. MANASA launched SICHREM to fulfil its commitment to promoting and protecting human rights.

Our vision is to make human rights a household concept.

Our mission is to empower the disempowered groups of dalits, tribals, women, children and minorities to protect their individual and collective rights for a dignified life; through education, monitoring, providing individual support, and mobilizing civil society for concerted action.
