At a conference I was asked to describe myself in two words: "Feisty Nerd"
• Feisty: (of a person, typically one who is relatively small) lively, determined, and courageous
• Nerd: a person who is very interested in technical subjects, computers, etc.
I love to learn, be it traditional, organic or experiential. My aptitude for "nerdiness" can be seen through my success in my academic endeavors. From the University of Michigan, I have received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Ross School of Business and a Master of Science in Information from the School of Information. As well as a Graduate Certificate in Health Informatics from a joint School of Information and School of Public Health program.
Although small in stature, I am no shrinking wallflower. During my tenure at University of Michigan's Business Engagement Center, I was nominated as the youngest member to participate in a design team. I often found myself in meetings with the leadership team and when necessary I was willing to stand up and promote my department’s goals and vision.
In 30 years I have lived in one county of Michigan, but it is time to move on from my comfort zone and explore what the world has to offer!
