Sierra Sims

Hello, I'm Ms. Sierra Sims I am passionate about innovative teaching and impacting the lives of students who I come in contact with.

I am a senior at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville studying elementary education with a concentration in English and Social Sciences. I am a Golden Apple Scholar of Illinois. I am a hard-working, motivated young woman. I like to consider myself a team player as well as a strong individual in many ways. My perseverant attitude that matches my willingness to get the job done is what will make me stand out from all others. Aside from these character traits, I am diligent and am always willing to learn the necessary skills and grasp the necessary tools to do my best at anything. Also, I am not afraid to ask for help or admit when I do not know something. My time management skills are such that I am able to complete tasks in an appropriate amount of time. I value both my own as well as the time of others. I am a woman of my word and do my best to always be dependable as well as flexible. I love to help others and give back as much as my time permits, being careful not to overextend or overwhelm myself. In addition, I am not one to crack under pressure because I am confident in my abilities as a strong woman who is rooted in family and my future. I intend to bring all of my abilities and talents as well as my resources and level headed nature to my students. I come with an ability and willingness to think through things as well give ideas and work hard to uphold the high standards that I set for both myself as well as my students.
