My name is Sierra Archer and I spent my junior year of high school living in Costa Rica. My host brother Josue is my best friend. He contains such a love for dancing and music and will spend hours upon hours practicing and perfecting whatever he is working on. His passion inspires me to go out and find something that I can be that excited for and that in love with. My host mom Marta is wonder woman. She is raising three kids, a grandchild, and still finds room in her heart to treat me like one of her own. She works all day cleaning the school so that Josue can attend and learn english and have a brighter future. My host dad Lidier is a taxi driver. He is the only source of income for the family. He works day in and day out driving all over the country and only comes home to sleep and eat. When he makes a little extra and wakes us up in the middle of the night for take home pizza, his face contains more joy than anyone I've ever seen. Sometimes I feel like people get sick of me talking about my time in Costa Rica, but this family changed me forever. They put a mark on my heart that will forever affect who I am.
