Born in Brooklyn, New York to a single parent West-Indian/Caribbean household. I am the oldest of 4 children. I am the first generation for my family in the United States to attend college. I am currently a full-time student at North Carolina Central University located in Durham, North Carolina. My interests range from fashion, to shopping. I am also interested in travel, food, music, and medicine. One interesting fact about me is that I worked as a medical assistant for 6 years in a Dermatology practice. I felt that there was no growth in this field to move up and I knew that I wanted to do more than be stationary. I knew that I could challenge my mind in so many other ways, so I quit my career of 6 years to go back to school to pursue pre-medicine. I plan to attend graduate school with the intensions of becoming an ER doctor. In my spear time, I also like to browse YouTube for new natural hair styles. I have been natural for the past 5 years. I began this journey while working at the dermatology practice. With the experience of working in the dermatology practice I have seen everything that changed my mind on transitioning from relaxed hair to natural hair. I knew I did not want to have chemical damage or heat damage to my hair or scalp. I also do volunteer work for a non-profit organization called OneSight. The OneSight program gives children around the United States and around the world that cannot afford glasses the opportunity to see. This organization provides children a free eye exam and a free pair of glasses. I enjoy providing children with their first pair of glasses to see a new world, it gives me much gratitude to help others that cannot afford.
