SignWorld

Professionals from many different backgrounds come to Signworld to realize their dreams of owning their own business. A company that provides entrepreneurs with everything they need to own a custom sign manufacturing business, Signworld was founded by Ken Kindt, who established the company because he wanted to own his own business. Kindt started Signworld in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1988 and later moved the headquarters to Laguna Hills, California. Today, he oversees the company with Jack Werner, a former owner of a Signworld outlet who realized the company's promise of entrepreneurship before joining its corporate ranks.

Signworld exists to fulfill businesses' needs for small, indoor signage geared toward particular seasons, holidays, promotions, and other marketing events and techniques. Since most businesses constantly change their indoor signs and displays, Signworld has identified a profitable business niche for enterprising individuals who want to own their own business. Owning a Signworld location requires $185,000, which includes everything needed to open a business. The cost covers four weeks of training and ongoing educational webinars, as well as the equipment, software, and POS hardware to produce and sell custom-made signage. Of the initial sum, $20,000 is allocated for start-up expenses including the security deposit, website design and hosting, office furniture, equipment such as phones and copiers, printing costs, insurance premiums, utility hookups, miscellaneous tools and supplies, travel for training, and of course an outside sign to advertise the new Signworld business.
