Special needs Teacher, Sign Language Instructor, and Advocate for the Deaf in Lagos, Nigeria
Dorcas is a Special needs Educator, Sign Language Instructor/Interpreter and Deaf Advocate with a career spanning over a decade.
She holds multiple certificates in Rehabilitation from the Federal College of Education (Special) Oyo State, Foundation Montessori (2-6 years) as well as Philosophy and Pedagogy of Montessori in Early Childhood Education for 0-3 years.
She provides special needs children with the appropriate amount of support and services in order for each child to achieve his or her maximum potential while bridging the communication gap to give them a voice and promoting inclusion of persons with disability through educational programs.
Her passion and style of delivery is such that takes away sadness or depression hence the name "Sign with Joy".
In the last 12years, 30 children with disabilities as well as Interpreted at several events including the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption(RoLAC) sponsored by the British Council and the Holy Ghost Congress/Convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
She is also a member of the Association of Sign Language Interpreters of Nigeria (ASLIN), a mother of 2 children and the Convener of SignWithJoy Reach Out Programme.
