My self Simranjit Singh Resident of Delhi - promoting Punjabi language and requesting the Punjabis to learn, preserve our mother tongue ‘Punjabi’.

I got this motivation from my maternal uncle (Mama ji) late Gurdeep Singh ‘Raja’.

Gurdeep Singh was a music teacher (Tabla player) at Guru Harkrishan Public School, Shahadra , New Delhi. He used to promote Punjabi language after school hours.

In present time the youth were leaving the Punjabi language. If our children forget Gurmukhi, they will forget their history and will be unable to read and understand Guru Granth Sahib’s power. It is our duty to promote and publicise the Punjabi language.”

Delhi has a sizable number of Punjabi-speaking people and Punjabi is the second official language in the national capital. But the tragedy is that our young generation is not learning Punjabi language. Some of them can speak the language but they can’t read properly”
