Simanta Nandi is a second year MA student in the field of Digital Humanities and Social Sciences branch at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Dhanbad. He has a BA in Comparative Literature from Jadavpur University with focus on the Centre for Translation of Indian Literature (CENTIL) on translation. He is drawn to the core research areas of digital archiving, cultural heritage, AI, computational social sciences and electronic literature.

Recently, Simanta successfully completed the Summer Research Internship Program 2026 of the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram for the purpose of preserving cultural narratives. There he worked on his project ‘Mapping Memory, Mapping Meals: A Digital Archive of Indigenous Food Traditions’. He has actively participated in the global Heritage and Archival discourse international programs such as the UNESCO World Heritage Education Program at Visva-Bharati University, West Bengal and a British Library Archival Digitization workshop in collaboration with the Institute of Language Studies and Research (ILSR), Kolkata.

Along with this, he has made significant academic contributions through his article titled "Impact of Popular Culture and Media on Literary Reception in the Northeast of India" for the 2024 Re-imagining Northeast Writing and Narratives: Language, Culture and Border Identities published by the Jamia Millia Islamia. His writing prowess has been officially acknowledged in 2021 by Oxford University Press.
