Brand designer with over 20 years’ worth of experience working with clients around the world, Simão Lagoá is the founder of SLDesign. His creative ability to think outside the box and his passion for all things design has seen Simão working alongside global brands to develop their branding and unique footprint.

Having lived in three countries to date - Portugal, Spain and in recent times, Australia - Simão has extensive experience in helping brands to speak to their target market visually and in a way people truly connect with. From 2007 to 2013, Simão was an integral part of the core Marketing team at Vista Print in Barcelona, arguably the number one online design and print provider in the world. He was regularly celebrated as one of the company’s top selling creatives and broke numerous records, while helping to build the marketing team from six creatives to a department consisting of over 40 employees by 2013.

Due to his experience working across the spectrum in terms of the design industry, from his time working with small local shops, teaching at a university to Vista Print in Barcelona and to now owning his own business, Simão has developed a deep understanding of design for conversion. Over the years, he’s successfully honed one of the most invaluable skills there is for any designer: the ability to listen and translate information into something meaningful and memorable. These priceless skills enable Simão to capture his client’s vision and create a brand identity that is scalable and can be integrated and varied for different cultures.

When combined with his passion and background in the Sports and Development space, Simão’s flair for design that converts is in demand across the world, particularly within the ever-growing Fitness industry. His portfolio consists of brand design work for a number of athletes, fitness centres, coaches as well as nutrition and clothing brands. A self-confessed ‘product of the product,’ Lagoá understands the mindset and philosophies that regulate Fitness and Personal Development industry verticals, allowing him to create visual identities capable of engaging with the target markets for these highly competitive sectors.
