I am Rajan Simkhada a believer in personal touch and intricate detail.

I am the President and Co-Founder of Earthbound Expeditions, an award-winning travel and trekking company specializing in trips to Nepal Himalaya, India, Tibet, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and beyond.
Earthbound Expeditions has an excellent reputation and has earned global recognition for its exceptional service, local and knowledgeable guides, and philanthropic efforts throughout Nepal, Southeast Asia and beyond.

Born and raised in the mountain region of Darkha, Dhading, I noticed many foreign tourists trekking via my village and dreamt of becoming a guide and working with travelers to Nepal. At the age of 14, my desire for a better education brought me to Kathmandu. After completing university with a degree in business, I began my tourism career as a front desk assistant in a hotel. It wasn’t long before my passion, vision, and ambition led me to complete trekking guide training, and then to work as a trekking guide in Nepal.

As I continued to study, learn and further understand the tourism business, I was enlightened to the perspective that there is much more to tourism than being a guide. After many years of leading numerous trips through different parts of Himalayas, we Launched Earthbound Expeditions in 1999.

Today, Earthbound Expeditions is known as a leader in Nepal tourism and serves more than 2500 travelers a year in Nepal Himalaya, India, Bhutan, Tibet, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and beyond. My passion for the industry, along with his ability to provide five star-service to visitors from all over the world, has allowed him to thrive as a successful travel planner with a distinct vision to develop the tourism in Nepal.

I am on a mission to create positive change in society and to be an influential advocate to stop “brain drain” and create hope for our youth. While Many of Nepali including 22 of my cousins left Nepal to work abroad, I live in Kathmandu because of my tremendous love for home country and determination to make a difference in the local and national community.

With a great sense of humor, I am a comedian for Nepali Television viewers. In addition, I have high regard for social service and donating a percent of his profit to charities and philanthropic work.

The Earthbound team has helped to build schools in remote areas of Nepal and has helped visually impaired children and orphans.

I published a book Hinde Pugincha about Nepal's tourism potentiality to share with youth.
