Student and Musician in Georgia
My name is Sienna and I am a musician, songwriter, guitar player, and singer. I have always had a love for music. In fact, as a baby I was singing before I could properly form a word.
I grew up playing at open mics and variety shows with my ukulele. I later outgrew the ukulele and decided to pick up guitar. Little did I know this would shape the next part of my life. Around the same time, I decided to join the school band and learned clarinet. Within a year, I made first chair and realized that music was my passion. I love performing, making music, and playing guitar.
In high school I continued band and joined a couple of rock bands. I also discovered what Music Therapy is through my independent research in the International Baccalaureate program. I found that music can be used in a therapeutic relationship, and became inspired to help people with music.
I now study at the Hugh Hodgson School of Music. In addition, I have joined a band and have found myself involved with the Athens local music scene and WUOG, the college radio station.
Music has significantly impacted my life and shaped who I am. I intend to blend my musicianship with my love for people and desire to help others. This is why I am studying Music Therapy at the University of Georgia.
