Pragmatic optimist who believes in the potential of people.

The pragmatic bit is rooted in my upbringing in Northern England and the optimist bit is a choice. I have spent the majority of my professional career as a lawyer and more recently I have moved into roles that focus on helping young people realise their potential and end educational disadvantage in the UK.

Whilst still a lawyer I founded the multi award winning education programmes 5 STAR Futures and the Modern Lawyer.

I continue to work to end educational inequality and promote social mobility by working in partnership with schools, colleges, universities and business to provide opportunities for young people from working class backgrounds enable their own potential.
