Simon Li is the current Director of Education at the Hong Kong Holocaust and Tolerance Centre. Besides public education, his work particularly focuses on strategic planning, outreach, and educational technology. A graduate of Yad Vashem's International School for Holocaust Studies in Jerusalem, he conducts research on Holocaust and tolerance education in Asia, and gives lectures on the difficult and complex topic of the Holocaust and genocides at colleges and universities. He leads students to Cambodia and Nanjing, among other killing fields, to study genocide and its effects. A veteran educator with a passion for quality history teaching and human rights education, his educational work also focuses on Rwanda and Bosnia.

Having completed degrees in twentieth-century history at Queen’s University in Canada, Simon has strived to teach tolerance and mutual respect through the inspiring story of Anne Frank. He now also researches at the University of Leicester in England and has been a commissioned guest editor of the UK-based academic journal Asian Education and Development Studies. His forthcoming journal article is based on his research at Amsterdam's Anne Frank Huis and the NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies in the Netherlands.
