Simon is a Developer Advocate and Business Development Manager in IBM. Currently he is focussed on developers, startups, entrepreneurs, communities and incubators, both from a technical and commercial perspective. Simon is very familiar with Cloud, Pass, SaaS, AI, IoT, Blockchain and Data Science. Simon has extensive background having been engaging with partners and the channel for over the last 15 years starting with early days of cloud.
Other roles in the last 33 years at IBM have included Continuous pipeline tool development, CICS Software Development, CICS and MQ Product Management, Field Enablement and Cloud leader in Global, Europe and UK roles.
In his personal time Simon enjoys being with his Family and spending time with them in all that they want to do and explore.
He also enjoys yacht racing and has been able to compete and some of the highest levels in a non-professional capacity at various events including J111 Worlds, Swan 45 World Cup, multiple Cowes Weeks, BVI, Antigua and Cork Race Weeks, 4 Fastnets and 1 transatlantic crossing.
Simon also enjoys Mountain biking and can be found speeding around the country lanes north of Winchester either oon his own, with his children and/or with local other Dads!
Simon graduated from the University of Surrey with a BSc in Mathematics and Computing, has a Diploma in Strategic Market Management from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and is a Project Management Professional. He is married with 4 children aged between 10 and 16 and lives near Winchester.
