Simone DeLis

I'm a native Dallasite and 1991 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, where I was a vocal student in the music cluster. I received both my bachelors and masters degree in interdisciplinary studies/education from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX. As a "straight-ahead" jazz vocalist whose been on the local scene for the past 20 years, i've had the wonderful opportunity and pleasure of working with very gifted, locally and nationally renowned, musicians including: Arlington Jones, Bobby Sparks, Monya Logan, Gregory Slavin, Kelley Durbin, Shelley Carrol, Quamon Fowler, Keith Loftis, Andrew Griffith, and the late Claude Johnson, Jr., and Marchel Ivery. I'm a part of the Generativity Jazz (jazzdfw.com) crew under the leadership of Mr. James Gilyard, and I also work independently under the new marketing label Passion For Entertainment managed by Monique. Visit us at PassionForEntertainment.bandzoogle.com Some of my jazz vocal icons include: Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Carmen McRae, Nancy Wilson, Dianne Reeves, Lambert, Hendricks & Ross, and so many others. My other passions and hobbies are spending time with family, being a church ministry multi-tasker, and being a part of the S. I. S. T. E. R. S. Book Club.
