My name is Simone Jacobs, and I am a psychotherapist with a busy private practice, in Takoma Park, MD. I have a BSc. from Kings College, London University, and a MSW from Smith College. I have focused my training and experience on working with survivors of abuse and neglect. I became interested in working with trauma when I interned in an outpatient group program for survivors of childhood abuse. I was deeply moved by the power of the group process and the willingness of the participants and leaders to ask difficult questions, confront harsh realities, and take incredible personal risks. I currently run a women’s group exploring issues of racism, sexism, and intergenerational trauma.
