Simon Meredith East Bank Club
General Manager Simon Meredith oversees the operations of the East Bank Club, a state-of-the-art fitness facility that John McCarthy, Executive Director of the International Health, Racquet, and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA), has called, “the gold standard for the club industry.” Located in the River North neighborhood of Chicago, the facility boasts five levels, comprising of swimming pools, a Pilates and GYROTRONIC studio, a physical therapy and sports medicine center, and exercise studios. The East Bank Club also offers its members more than 180 group exercise classes, racquet sports leagues and tournaments, and about 1000 personal training sessions every week. Simon Meredith manages the club’s 600 employees in the facility, which also includes unique features such as dining, catering services, a pro shop, and valet parking. Simon Meredith has been with the East Bank Club since it began in 1980, joining the business as Assistant General Manager. Mr. Meredith has overseen the club’s growth from 3000 members at its inception, to its current enrollment of more than 10,000. The East Bank Club has one of the highest member retention rates in the industry today, and Simon Meredith is adamant about catering to the needs of the club members with care and respect. Under Mr. Meredith’s leadership, the facility was recognized for its customer service with the Dale S. Dibble Distinguished Service Award. Before joining the East Bank Club, Simon Meredith was Head Tennis Pro at the Evergreen Bath and Tennis Club in Evergreen Park, Illinois and served as Director of Tennis for a club in Chicago. Mr. Meredith is originally from the United Kingdom and came to the United States in 1975 after graduating from law school.
