Simon Whitebridge

Programme Director / Consultant in Bahrain

I am a highly successful Project Director / Programme Director / Management Consultant with 31 years of International Experience.

I thrive on troubled projects and have been responsible for rescuing projects with a combined TCV of more than $1 Billion.

I focus on the extreme and have gained a solid reputation for successfully managing the most complex and challenging projects in the most difficult conditions.

I have 31 years of experience in IT Solutions with a combined total of 28 years with IBM, EDS, HP and THALES. Having followed IBM’s traditional, and very structured, career path, I have progressed from a strong technical base as an Application Developer, through to Team Leader, Project Leader, Project Manager, Programme Manager and now to Senior Programme Director. With 21 years of both theoretical and practical Project and Programme Management experience behind me, working in many different environments and many different clients, I (in 2005) was recognized as being one of EDS’s top Programme Managers globally.

Following my move to the Middle East in September 2006, I demonstrated my ability to work in the region by rescuing the troubled, high profile and award winning eGovernment Portal Programme for the Saudi Ministry of Interior, setting up the PMO for Saudi Arabia’s newest bank (Al Inma Bank), managing the HP SAP Integration / ITO Operations for the whole of the Middle East, rescuing the troubled ATM to IP MPLS Network Transformation Programme at Saudi Aramco, and most recently as the Project Director for the implementation of the Integrated Security Solution for the Saudi Bin Laden group for the expansion of Makkah Mosque.

I have excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and oral) and am comfortable communicating at all levels.

In addition I have strong people management skills, and have been a line manager and mentor for more than 20 years.
