Greetings from suburban Detroit. I promise you the national news has been both accurate and unkind to Detroit...yes, I know that is a contradiction. We are a city with many troubles however, we are also a community with tremendous heart and spirit. There is much hope for what Detroit can become again. I personally love an underdog story so my bet is on The D.
Like most of us, I am a woman who multitasks and wears many hats. Christ follower, wife, mother, daughter, friend, advocate, teacher, speaker, writer, volunteer...just to name a few. Even though that list seems all consuming I do have time for a few hobbies. I am a self procalimed foodie, lover of American History, Charleston, S.C. is my happy place, I find calm and rest near water, a good book helps me relax like few things can, and healthy living is a priority.
As a mother of a child with autism I spend much of my time raising autism awareness. In 2009 my husband and I started a charity called Santino's Voice. Every year we have a team that runs in the Detroit Free Press Marathon to be the voice of autism for our son and our community. It is our deep desire that one day soon Santino's Voice will be giving scholarships to Metro Detroit churches to start special needs ministries.
My passion is to bring an authentic message of Jesus Christ so that all those who are seeking may find Him and all those who believe may grow deeper in their relationship with Him. There is freedom, healing, and transformation when we truly understand who we were created to be...Jesus is the key to unlocking all that God has planned to do in and through us. I believe we are at our best when we love our Creator, love others, and serve the world around us.
