When it comes to selecting traits for your Sims, there's a decent range of options available, from being a "Bro" to other personality quirks. However, you're limited to choosing only four traits, one less than what was possible in Sims 3. Thankfully, with the addition of the Sims University Life expansion pack, you can add two more traits. While the traits offer diversity, some can feel a bit extreme. For example, the "lonely" trait led one of my Sims to frequently cry in bed, detracting from the overall gaming experience. Conversely, positive traits like "romantic" can enhance Sims' emotional range, leading to more frequent displays of affection.

Moving on to Build Mode and Venues, the worlds in The Sims 4 lack variety, and the available venues are rather underwhelming, ranging from bars and museums to parks and libraries. It would be nice to see more diverse options. Additionally, improving the travel experience with smoother transitions between locations would enhance gameplay. Within close proximity to your home, activities like fishing, rock collecting, and exploring your neighbor's yard are easily accessible.

Constructing a house for my Sims family in Build Mode felt overwhelming compared to previous games, where the process seemed more straightforward. Opting for pre-styled rooms provided a streamlined alternative, which I found enjoyable. The new room-sizing feature simplifies adjusting room dimensions with ease, although roofing remains a bit finicky. Nonetheless, organizing rooms and adding siding makes for a quick setup.

Expansion packs breathe new life into the game, offering adventures like exploring ancient tombs, living on tropical islands, or camping in the wilderness. These packs introduce otherworldly creatures and provide bundles that include an expansion pack, game pack, and stuff pack for a comprehensive gaming experience.

Personally, I find The Sims 4 Seasons expansion particularly enjoyable, as it introduces a calendar feature with distinct seasons and numerous seasonal activities. Celebrating holidays adds depth to gameplay, with various tasks to complete for each holiday, enriching the overall Sims experience.
