I'm an abstract painter and maker of wall pieces and installations using recyclables and found objects. In my paintings I most often use natural elements and personal symbols to express surroundings, thoughts and feelings. Working primarily in acrylic or oil, I bring an experimental attitude to my art, adding objects to canvases, or using the canvas itself in unusual, sculptural ways. I get real joy from putting paint to canvas and seeing what develops.

For the past six years, my artistic expression has expanded to include environmental statements using common plastics, metals and other found objects. I address concerns such as the huge plastic gyres in our oceans, oil spills, and ozone holes through paintings, wall pieces and installations. My newest piece, "Shredded in a Paperless Society 2", will be part of the "Outdoor Sculpture at Maudslay" show which runs from Oct. 11- Oct. 1, 2016, at Maudsley State Park, Curzon Mill Road, Newburyport.

Also in Newburyport, three of my contemporary paintings are part of the Abstract Artists Group of New England's exhibition at Newburyport Art Association, 65 Water Street, through September 11, 2016. Hours are Tue.- Sat. 11-5 pm and Sun, 1-5pm.
