I'm Sioban (pronounced Sha-Von) Massiah, and I am a Special Events Manager based in NYC. I have always realized I was blessed beyond measure, and I try my best to use my gifts to give back to those who may not be as fortunate.

Event Management is my gift. It is the process by which an event is planned, prepared, and produced. As with any other form of management, it invloves the assessment, definition, acquisition, allocation, direction, control, and analysis of time, finances, people, products, services, and other resources to achieve objectives. An event manager’s job is to oversee and arrange every aspect of an event, including researching, planning, organizing, implementing, controlling, and evaluating an event’s design, activities, and production.

Currently, at my "day-job", I work for an amazing non-profit tech company that creates innovative and inspiring conferences and "Talks" of ideas worth spreading.

However, I freelance as a Special Events Manager for local not-for profits and entrepreneurs who want to create awareness about their products, services, and brands through events. Creating events that create awareness and serve to positively benefit the audience is my true passion in life.

I also am an avid lover of everything beauty. I blog for Tribe Called Curl, and love products to enhance natural beauty.
