Date me

My motto: "Sure, why not?!"

I have: played piano, flute, banjo, kazoo, and nose flute; worked in a lawyer's office, a food co-op, the Department of Natural Resources, Penland School of Craft, and countless elementary schools; fixed toilets, sinks, garbage disposals, ceiling fans, light switches, broken windows, chairs & tables. finished 7 half-marathons in decent times (I wasn't last); backpacked the East Coast, West Coast, and Midwest; kayaked Lake Erie, canoed lots-o-lakes, rafted the American River; traveled to 37/50 United States, West Africa, South Africa, Australia, Europe, Asia, Mexico, and a weekend trip to rural Canada that one time;

I am an alumna of: Lakewood Public Schools, Hathaway Brown School for [wayward] Girls, The Mountain School of Milton Academy, Macalester College, Hamline Graduate School of Education, Stanford's National Board Resource Center where I became a National Board Certified Teacher of Early & Middle Childhood Literacy; and Breathe For Change, a 200-hour yoga teacher certification program for K-12 educators.

Not a fan of: cats, jumping off high things, Jägermeister, getting up early, mean people... but I invite you to change my mind.

I can: make paper, bind books, knit, crochet, sew, & weave; make maps, read maps, appreciate maps & map-makers; teach you how to read and write English; speak, read and write French, some Spanish and even less Mandarin; bake, boil, broast, broil, & burn delicious food; forgive your mistakes, because hey - we all make them (see "burn delicious food" above); laugh at the absurdities of modern life; and love you for being human.
