Hi, I’m Siobhan Shaw. I’m the heart and soul behind Growing to Give, a nonprofit I co-founded and lead. Our mission is simple and bold: bring together innovative, passionate people to solve food insecurity through climate-resilient farming solutions. We focus on making farming easier, smarter, and more accessible so more communities can grow what they need to thrive.

You may have heard of spiral farming. That’s my specialty. And my partner John Kendall's, patented agriculture systems. I’m recognized as one of two of the world’s leading voices next to his in this earth-friendly growing method, and I’m especially passionate about getting more women involved in agriculture. When women grow food, they nourish families, strengthen economies, and spark lasting community transformation.

At Growing to Give, we’re reimagining what farming can look like. Our systems use less water, less space, and less fertilizer while producing high yields of fresh, nutrient-rich food. With the help of an incredible volunteer network spanning agriculture, sustainability, marketing, and legal fields, we bring these practical solutions to communities that need them most. We also collaborate with community farms, nonprofits, and mission-aligned businesses to create a powerful ripple effect of change.

This work goes far beyond farming. It’s about resilience, dignity, and hope. One crop at a time, we’re helping communities build healthier, more sustainable futures.

My passion for this work runs deep. My mother became a farmer in her 40s and taught me everything I know about caring for the land and the life it sustains. Today, that legacy comes full circle as I help others grow food and reimagine abundance. Alongside my partner, the agricultural technology innovator, I’ve spent years sharing knowledge and tools freely with communities, made possible through the generosity of donors, sponsors, and grantors.

I’m also the founder and producer of Cancer Bites, a podcast that blends honest conversations, lived experience, and expert insight around cancer, survivorship, and life after diagnosis. The show is rooted in connection, clarity, and courage, meeting people where they are and reminding them they’re not alone.

In addition to my nonprofit and media work, I write for national publications, including titles such as Homes & Gardens, sharing stories and expertise at the intersection of home, health, sustainability, and everyday living.

At Growing to Give, we believe no one should go hungry when we have the power to grow plenty. Our work is about turning scarcity into abundance and leaving a legacy of resilience for generations to come 🌱
