Ms. Siratikarn Lohasarn
Growing up in Thailand, where massage and entrepreneurship are both ingrained in the local culture, my ambition was always to pursue a career in spa business development. I went to study Business and English from Assumption University in Bangkok, I moved to London (UK) where I studied for additional business certifications and worked as a spa therapist and receptionist.
Together with my business partners, I founded a Thai spa in London, with the objective of offering an authentic Thai spa experience. The spa became popular and I enjoyed contributing to that success both hands-on providing treatements to clients and as a manager guiding every aspect of the business.
For my next career step, I returned to Thailand and opened a day spa in Bangkok together with my business partners. This was a big challenge as the Bangkok spa industry is highly competitive but by focusing on customer service we soon became ranked as the #1 day spa in Bangkok on Tripadvisor.com.
We then opened additional branches in Bangkok, and in Phuket, both of which soon enjoyed similar popularity, as did our partner spa in Koh Samui, which I helped with marketing and management.
My new objective is to use my skills (including training at Bangkok's prestigious Wat Pho massage school) and experience of managing an international spa business, to help develop Singapore's spa industry.
