DoHa Nguyen
Economic Analyst in Vietnam
Le Dong Hai “DoHa” Nguyen is a Vietnamese economic analyst and social entrepreneur. His research interests and work areas include economic diplomacy, sustainable development, and climate finance, and he has worked at Brookings, McKinsey, and the World Bank Group, among others.
He is also known for his education advocacy as the founding chair of the Global Association of Economics Education (GAEE), a youth-led UN-recognized nonprofit dedicated to promoting economics literacy in the Global South. In 2019, for his activism in economics education, Nguyen was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts at the age of 16, then the youngest fellow ever elected in the RSA's 265-year history. Nguyen is a 2019 finalist for the Young Economist of the Year award by the Financial Times, and a 2023 nominee for Vietnam's WeChoice Award.
His writing has appeared in various media outlets, including The Diplomat, East Asia Forum, and Newsweek. He has been interviewed by USA Today, Times Higher Education, Voice of Vietnam, VTC News, and VnExpress, among others.
Nguyen holds a BS in economics, summa cum laude, and an MSFS with distinction in global business & finance from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, where he was a Centennial Fellow and an economics editor for the Georgetown Journal of International Affairs.
