Assallamu Alaikum Sisters and Brothers of the Raleigh-Durham area!

We are SABR which stands for Sisters AND Brothers Rising.

We are a new committee under Imam Abu Thaleb's office at the Islamic Association of Raleigh (IAR). And we represent your voices in our community.

We are on a mission to be a bridge and catalyst for change within our community and our greater ONE Wake community.

One of our key goals is to pinpoint areas within our local Muslim community that need improvement and support. Our goal is to unite our Sisters And Brothers in our community.

As we better work to better our lives, it is also equally important to better the lives surrounding us.

Being proactive, we represent the Islamic Association of Raleigh at the ONE Wake group, a non-partisan, multi-racial, multi-issue group of religious congregations, associations, and other non-profits in the Wake County area.

We work together to identify common problems, find and create solutions, and work together to implement systemic changes within society.

We started this year with a JOMO Mindfulness Nature Walk with our Islamic Mindfulness Teacher, Br. Wadud Hassan.

This week, we encourage, foster, and showcase Islamic Art that we can share with our entire community (regardless of race or religion).

We have many more programs to come and need and want feedback and participation from you.
