Bane

Bane

My history is a complex web of human psychosis and trauma. I am one of the most complex villains in the Batman universe.

I first appeared in Batman: Vengeance of Bane #1 (January 1993) created by Chuck Dixon, Doug Moench, and Graham Nolan, originally intended as a "Dark Mirror" of pulp hero Doc Savage created for the "Knightfall" storyline (I break Batman's back)

Born in fictional prison "Hard Rock", forced to serve the prison sentence of my father I commit my first murder at age eight, stabbing a fellow prisoner test subject for "Venom" drug, which increases my strength.

I discovered Batman's identity tricking Batman by releasing the Arkham inmates I ambushed Batman at Wayne Manor. After a struggle I broke Batman's back leaving Batman a paraplegic.

I leave Gotham and get off of "Venom" fighting alongside Batman; I defeat criminals pushing "Venom". I leave Gotham again, searing for my father. Ra's Al Ghul meets me abroad, choosing me as his successor.

In my travels, I believe Bruce Wayne and I share the same father. I fight alongside batman while DNA tests are performed. I discovered he and I do not share the same father and my real father is determined to be King Snake. While battling King Snake, I save Batman but am mortally wounded. Batman bathes Bane in the Lazarus Pit, healing me.
