Anthony "Sketch" Gilbert

As a kid, growing up around idols such as Missy Elliot, Michael Jackson, and Usher, Anthony found his artistry through music. The music gave rhythm to his bones, initiating a new beginning to what many people call "dance". He loved performing in front of mass crowds at a young age. His mother observed his talent and love for the art, so she became his manager, creating gigs, commercials, introducing him to talent agencies, etc. Not long after the road to succession, his mother was killed. Moving to Detroit during his High School career, he found Hip Hop, an underground scene of true art at its finest. He was soon introduced to so many styles of dance. All intrigued by them, he dedicated his life to what he loved, dancing. He grew in the Hip Hop scene, gathering knowledge of the do and don'ts, music, dance, people, and more. From there, he branched off on his own to do what he felt was right from what knowldege he gained over the years. He realizes the leadership he has gained and formed a crew of his own (Omnious Strangers). He performed for artist Detroit local rapper Brilliance, and performed at competitions such as "Celebrity Dance Competition", "VIP", and "Star Systems". He's been exposed to both commercial and underground scenes to the culture of dance. He continues to dance, never seeking for just success but to continue to progress at what he loves. Now, on his own, his focus on only on his future. Pursuing dance is his main passion and wants nothing but for his mother to be proud and to make dance a career, his life.
