Ski Johnson a Washington, DC based saxophonist and advid traveler has developed a captivating soulful jazz style that undisputedly makes him a musical
force in the New Millennium. Artistically his creative, distinctive and
versatile sound is comparable to renowned soul and legend jazz
artists such as the late Grover Washington Jr., Gerald Albright, Najee
and the late George Howard. Ski Johnson is accompanied by a
seven-piece ensemble that includes some of the most talented and experienced musicians in the country. Together they have an energetic stage presence that makes them one of the most exciting groups of performers to hit the soul/jazz scene in recent history.

compositions he has written, including “Follow a Rainbow” a hypnotic
groove and “A Message to Miles” a heart felt tribute to jazz great
Miles Davis. These are two of his compositions that will be
remembered for their fervor and inventiveness that took his musical
talent in a new direction. Other earlier works that exemplifies Ski’s
unique style are on his Second CD titled “In Your Eyes”. One of his
most recent CDS titled “Ski’s Supreme”, he does a fresh contemporary
rendition of Chaka Khan’s “Tell Me Something Good”; a romantic ballad
“Ski’s Supreme” collaborated with Roy Ayers, Alyson Williams and
Tony Terry; an upbeat track with an energetic funk flavor such as
“F Thang”; and a soothing sultry sax solo “So You Wanna Dance”.
