Skot O'Mahony

I was born in Pittsburgh, PA and grew up in Penn Hills, PA, a suburb of Pittsburgh. I studied Landscape Architecture & Graphic Design at Penn State and after graduating, I moved around and worked in various places - NYC, Seattle and State College, until I met the man who I would marry, Jeff, the love of my life and my partner in this journey.

After 22+ years in Seattle, working in publishing as Art Director of Seattle Magazine, Alaska Airlines Magazine and Ashton·Breiten Design, and having my own design company, skotodesign, I made the move to Amazon.com and was there for 12+ years managing design teams globally and in my last years there, working towards a more editorial direction for their fashion-related sites, which was both a great challenge and a blast.

Jeff and I moved to Austin, TX in January of 2011, as I was recruited by PayPal.com to lead their Visual Experience Design Team, and we also had aspirations to start a daylily hybridizing nursery, Pandora Gardens, in a warmer location, which is in process. We currently have over 1000 different daylily cultivars that we grow and hybridize and many more to come.
