Dave Hall

Dave's obsession with computing began at 8 years old when he bought his first computer with money saved from his newspaper round. Since 2000, Dave has been providing open-source consulting and IT services to a global client base, specializing in building large, high-quality web applications. His deep knowledge of the open-source world and passion for learning and teaching have led Dave to contribute to numerous open source projects, including Drupal, phpGroupWare, StatusNet, and PEAR. Dave has a special knack for finding elegant solutions to complex problems and a keen interest in performance, scalability, and security. (For example, he recently designed, deployed, and maintained more than 2,000 Drupal sites for a single client.) Dave is based in the Australian bush just outside of Melbourne, where he lives with his family and a bunch of animals. His local town boasts a community-run Drupal website and free wireless network.
